TEMPSHIELD® REFLECTIVE BLOCK WALL INSULATION REFLECTS HEAT
Block or concrete walls are common along the coastal areas of the US and throughout Latin America. Tempshield® Reflective Insulation radiant barrier reflects the heat radiating through the concrete wall and reflects it back outside the structure.
Without Tempshield® Reflective Insulation radiant barrier, concrete structures can easily reach oven-like temperatures in the summer months. Block or concrete walls present a challenge when insulating a home or structure. Attaching any type of insulation to the wall is difficult because of potential damage to the integrity of the concrete blocks.
- Check the area you are insulating and make any needed repairs before installing TempShield® Reflective Insulation radiant barrier.
- Use adhesive caulk or nails to attach furring strips to the wall 16” or 24” on-center. Use small pieces of tape to hold the strips against the wall until the caulk has thoroughly cured.
- Using TempShield® Reflective Insulation radiant barrier, simply install between furring strips. Staples should be placed every 3″ to 4.”
